Baking to beat poverty!

Love making a difference? Love cakes? So do we….

That’s why we took our goal and message (along with a mountain of cakes and treats..!) out to the public, for the recent Farmer’s Market hosted by the Horse and Jockey in Chorlton.

Blessed with gorgeous weather and the donated cakes and goodies from 10 friends and family of Made with Hope, our goal was simple, to raise as much money and awareness for our amazing cause as possible!

From tasty traditional sponges to adorable hand made marzipan allotment scene cakes, our stall drew people in from all walks of life, eager to hear more about our plans for the orphanage and how their sweet tooth (and a quick delve into their wallet) would take us one step closer to achieving our goal! The interest in the cause was huge, with many people donating extra money to the project and reaffirming our belief in making a difference!

And as if that wasn’t enough, we were treated to a surprise afternoon appearance by Northern Comic legend Jason Manford, who as well as buying some of the cakes on offer, made a very generous donation to Made with Hope, topping off a brilliant day for all involved, raising £400 towards our goal!!

We’d like to thank everyone involved in making the day such a success and of course thanks to all those who attended our stall, bought some cakes and showed so much enthusiasm for Made with Hope..!
