Core Programme: Let us Learn
20 New classrooms built
11 Classrooms renovated
Impacting 1395 students
Our Aim for this project…
The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) is a single attempt examination, conducted in English, that is done by Standard 7 students (Year 8 in the UK) across Tanzania. It serves as the secondary school entrance exam. Unfortunately, children that fail the exam are pushed out of the education system and the majority remain in their villages often working in agriculture. This highlights the importance of passing these exams to enable access to higher education and provide better opportunities for employment. We aim to improve access to education at our partner schools and improve all the students chances of passing these exams by providing a safe, clean and accessible learning environment. Every child deserves this. Working with the communities, we work to increase access to education by renovating classrooms, improving infrastructure, building many new classrooms and the facilities to accompany them.
By renovating and constructing classrooms we aim to:
Improve school classrooms infrastructure to make a safe and comfortable learning environment. Some of the existing classrooms have no proper windows meaning when it's rainy or windy, the students get wet and feel too uncomfortable to learn.
Decrease overcrowding in classes. Overcrowding means teachers cannot give each child the support they require and makes teaching more stressful.
Improve grades and academic performance from students.
Made with Hope has built 20 classrooms in communities in rural Tanzania
…and renovated 11 classrooms. We are currently renovating 10 classrooms at Maweni Primary School and building 2 new classrooms!

The impact these classroom renovations have had on students at Marurani is incredible!
Marurani Primary School has been transformed by the kind donations from One Kind Act and Brinda Jaykant Shah Foundation, including 9 classroom renovations. The students received their end-of-year exam results and we were thrilled to learn that Marurani ranked number 1 out of 7 in their ward (previously number 6). This shows the hugely positive impact that the renovations at this school have had on students learning!
Additionally, 38 out of 40 students passed their secondary school entrance exam which means they have a much higher chance of escaping poverty now they're going on to secondary education! 'For every school year completed, a worker's earnings increase by 10% in the future' (source: World Bank).
We couldn’t be happier with these results and it confirms to us the importance of these projects. We can’t wait to finish our current renovations at Maweni which we hope will have the same positive impact on learning.
Thankyou
It's a pleasure to work with the communities of Arusha and we are very thankful for their collaboration and input on these projects. Children are given a chance to be educated and escape the unfair cycle of poverty. An education can see to children having a better life.
We have so many more desperately needed classroom renovations planned at our partner schools. If you would like to donate to future projects please click the button below.
