What is your biggest passion in international development?
I believe that the complex and multifaceted nature of climate change will have lasting implications for all fields across international development. The challenges associated with climate change will be particularly troublesome for rural communities. Therefore, I am very passionate about promoting development initiatives that help address inequalities, promote education and empowerment. These types of projects will be essential in developing long-term climate change resilience and adaptation.
What made you decide to get involved with MWH?
Not many organisations provide such involved and hands-on volunteering opportunities. Additionally, MWH is a smaller organisation, allowing it to focus on the quality of its projects. I believe that understanding these NGO practices will be very useful while building a career in international development.
What do you enjoy most about working at MWH?
So far, I have really enjoyed the teamwork associated with the projects I have been part of. Also, the hands-on nature of the volunteer work really makes me feel like I am part of something that is truly striving to make a difference.
What are you most looking forward to at MWH in the future?
Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, I haven’t had the opportunity to socialise and get to know many of the other volunteers. I’m looking forward to meeting more of the incredible staff, volunteers and getting more involved with research and project development.
