Volunteer Profile: Meet Rosie

Now for some longer questions:
What is your biggest passion in international development?
Although I am fairly new to working in international development, I have always been passionate about education. My experiences in education, both in school and university, have definitely formed me as a person. I believe that education should be a right and not a privilege, so I’m really passionate about working with Made With Hope to ensure our partner schools have good resources and motivated teachers. Hopefully, this in turn will increase the quality of teaching and the experiences the children have at school.
What made you decide to get involved with MWH?
When lockdown started in the UK, I decided I wanted to use my free time, skills and knowledge to help support a cause I wholeheartedly believe in. So I put together my cover letter and applied! My ambition is to work in fundraising and/or marketing in the charity sector, so I knew this opportunity would allow me to expand my skills and knowledge, whilst also meeting lots of new people!
What do you enjoy most about working at MWH?
I really enjoy being creative with my ideas and thinking of new ways to engage with people. I also love the sociable aspect of working with a team and I always look forward to our video calls where we discuss ideas for projects. I love working with likeminded people as I feel my voice is always heard and valued.
What are you most looking forward to at MWH in the future?
I am most looking forward to seeing the outcome of projects that we have been fundraising for, for example, the Emergency Handwashing Campaign. Seeing photographs of what we have helped achieve makes everything so worthwhile! I am also looking forward to working in the office when restrictions are lifted and meeting some of the team I've been working with face-to-face!
